In our fields

Sustainable Agriculture

We grow our potatoes using agronomic practices in line with regional integrated production plans, both in terms of fertilisation and crop protection from pests and diseases. This enables us to optimise the use of fertilisers and plant protection products.

Crop rotation management

Use of more resistant crop varieties

Monitoring and control of conditions conducive to pathogen development

Control of harmful insects through the testing of beneficial organisms that do not harm the crop.

We promote and support regenerative farming practices aimed at increasing soil organic matter, including the use of green manure crops.
In our experimental fields, working alongside leading partners including several universities, we are actively involved in testing and developing new technologies across a wide range of areas, with the aim of defining increasingly efficient and sustainable farming practices.

Drip Irrigation

Water is an increasingly precious resource. For this reason, we recommend the use of highly efficient systems such as drip irrigation, or “micro-irrigation”, to water our potato crops. This method delivers water directly to the root zone of our plants, minimising losses through evaporation and, compared with other irrigation methods, helping to reduce both water and energy consumption, as documented in a recent scientific review.

At Our Production Facilities

Biogas Cogeneration

We operate a cogeneration plant powered by biogas produced from our by-products, certified in accordance with Italian Ministerial Decree of 7 August 2024. The plant simultaneously generates electricity and thermal energy.
This system has enabled us to meet part of the energy requirements of our production facilities, reducing the amount of energy we need to purchase from the market.

By-product Recovery

The by-products generated at our production facilities are sent to biomass plants, where they are converted into biogas and subsequently used to generate energy.
This contributes to a more environmentally responsible production cycle by reducing the impact associated with waste disposal while recovering resources for energy generation.

Our Packaging

Easily Recyclable Packaging

When packaging our potatoes, we favour materials that can be easily disposed of through separate waste collection and recycling systems.
For example, for some of our fresh potato products, we use more sustainable packaging made from 100% paper-based materials.
